Melting Palms share centerpiece track "Orchard's Lie" from upcoming album: Watch Here

© Marc Huth

This song is one of the key pieces of the new album "Noise Between The Shades" of the Hamburg band. And not just because the lyrics and the accompanying video pick up on the iconic butterfly motif of the cover. "Orchard's Lie" rather represents the entire range that makes these five friends seem so ravishing. The cinematic beginning in the clip version alone: a little pre-text spoken into a scratchy mic, the song is immediately close to you. "I want you to know you look beautiful as you drift away," breathes Mike, who is otherwise also active with the band Swutscher and shares vocals with guitarist Teresa on Melting Palms. Only then the actual intro starts - and you flicker together with the band between tragedy and redemption, between comfort and melancholy. The sound itself opens up worlds somewhere on the shores of shoegaze, kraut, noise, rapture and psychedelic. "Orchard's Lie", this is forward-looking guitar music with a very old soul.
